A fantastic Pécs-based project joins the Karakulit Mikro Festival this year!
On November 8th at 18:00, you are warmly invited to the concert “LUX et UMBRA — Lights and Shadows” by the Fermata Mixed Choir. The performance will transport us into a distant world with the enchanting live light-painting of Mátyás Jankó, one of the ambassadors of the Karakulit Festival.

We look forward to welcoming you with love!

“The choral works we selected explore the relationship between light and shadow.
The colors of the northern lights, the rustling silhouettes in the dusk of deep forests, the warm glow of autumn… the darkness before dawn and the triumph of the sun’s first rays.
The haze of hopelessness versus the brightness of divine truth; the dull greys of passing away contrasted with the radiance of resurrection.
All drawn from 500 years of choral literature — placed within the sacred space of a Reformed church.

The concert is guided by live light-painting, projected onto the white walls of the venue. Our friend, Mátyás Jankó, shapes this visual world in real time.

True to our tradition, we seek the transition between different art forms: sounds and lights are woven together with poetry — performed by Tamás Pap.

For full immersion and intensity, the church will remain dark throughout the performance!”
