The participants of our workshop can simultaneously try playing with various figurative and abstract, flat and spatial, paper-based or wire- and foilbased, and other combined-material shadow puppets and shadow shapes on several small and large projection surfaces.

Szilárd Boráros, puppet and set designer and occasional director, presents self-made experimental shadow puppets that are built directly on the operator’s fingers, hands, head or other body parts. It focuses on the possibilities of creating a direct shadow image (without moving sticks or cords).

Puppeteer playwright, author, director and occasional designer Milada Boráros invites interested parties to an experimental, improvisational game with the possibilities of the transformation of figures in the magical, poetic world of traditional flat, black or colourful shadow puppets animated with rods.

The focus of the puppet-, costume- and set designer Erik Grosshmid‘s experimental workshop is illusion. It uses overhead projectors to create it. It shows how the sea, the water world, the forest, the universe, the blue sky, etc. are born. in the projected images. The interactive game promises many experiments, sights and wonders for the participants.

The workshop is free!
