The tradition of making straw puppets comes from mainland Java, more specifically East and Central Java. It is impossible to know when people first started making puppets out of straw - since the materials are so readily available, many Javanese believe that they have been made since time immemorial. Wayang Suket making workshop is an activity that we will discuss and make Wayang Suket together.
